Former Local Resident Had Lived at Ruthven for 31 Years
The death of Frank M. Brown, formerly of Winterset, which occurred at Ruthven, June 10, was reported here this week.
Mr. Brown was born near Winterset, Oct. 6, 1872, the son of John Leonard and Martha Brown. His early life was spent in this community. He was married at Des Moines Dec. 7, 1898, to Flora Isabel Mann of Winterset. After leaving here he spent 19 months in Wyoming, and then returned to live in Des Moines and Reasoner. For the past 31 years he had lived at Ruthven. He was 74 years old at the time of his death.
Surviving are his wife; a son, William L. Brown of Des Moines; two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Peglow and Mrs. Doris Miller, both of Ruthven; eight grandchildren; four brothers, Walter Brown of Patterson, Alson and Bradley Brown of Long Beach, Calif., and Earl Brown of Boise, Ida.; and two sisters, Mrs. Delia Field of Winterset and Mrs. Allie Fowler of Moline, Ill.
Funeral services were held June 13 from the Methodist church in Ruthven and burial was made in Crown Hill cemetery there.
