Macksburg News Items of Interest

Funeral services were held in Winterset Saturday afternoon for Mrs. Laura McKibban. Burial was made in the Clark cemetery. She was a former resident of this community.

MRS. WILLIAM McKIBBAN LONG-TIME RESIDENT

Winterset Woman Died June 26; Buried in Clark Cemetery

Mrs. William McKibban of Winterset, whose death occurred June 26, at the age of 73 years, had been a resident of Madison county since childhood.

She was the former Laura M. Brady, daughter of Thomas S. and Mary Jane Brady, and was born in Woodford county, Illinois, on March 19, 1874. At the age of eight years, she came to Iowa with her parents and the remainder of her life was spent here.

She was married January 27, 1896, to William McKibban. They were the parents of four children, two of whom preceded the mother in death. Mr. McKibban died in 1927.

She had been a member of the Macksburg Methodist church since early life.

Surviving are two sons, Roy McKibban of Winterset and Everett McKibban of Humboldt and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held June 28 from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. G. L. Hufstader, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Clark cemetery.
