Anna Myers, 85, Is Called Home

Funeral Services Were Monday Afternoon with Interment in Storm Lake Cemetery

Services for Mrs. Anna Myers, 85, and resident of Buena Vista county for more than a half century, were held Monday afternoon at the Fiscus funeral home. Mrs. Myers passed away Saturday at the home of her son, Leslie O. Myers at Sulphur Springs.

Rev. J. M. Bloomquist, Presbyterian minister, conducted the services. Mrs. Edith Berkler and Mrs. Clinton Horlacher sang "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross," accompanied by Mrs. Raymond Wagner.

Bearers were Ancil Stephan, Ed Mernin, Clarence Wright, George Comstock, Frank Sweet and Oscar Willadsen. Interment was in the Storm Lake Cemetery.

Those from out-of-town at the services were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Berkler, Meridien; Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Scott and family, Decorah; Mr. and Mrs. Paul E. Erickson and family, Cedar Rapids; Willis Berkler, Sioux City; Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Moe, Odebolt; Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Berkler, Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Berkler, Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Denise, Miss Catherine Denise and John D. Berkler, Lytton; Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Colburn, Miss Frances Colburn, Mrs. R. J. Bradley and Mrs. Allie Culbert, all of Sioux Rapids.

Obituary

Anna Pamelia Whitenack, a daughter of John R. and Catherine Murphy Whitenack, was born March 18, 1856 near Earlham in Madison county, Iowa and passed away at the home of her son Leslie O. Myers at Suphur Springs on Saturday afternoon, June 21, 1941 at 3 o'clock being at the time of her death 85 years, 3 months and 3 days.

She received her education and grew to young womanhood in Madison county.

She was united in marriage to Charles F. Myers on March 18, 1878 and moved to Buena Vista county near Storm Lake, where she lived for the greater part of her life. To this union nine children were born, six of whom survive her.

Survivors

They are William C. and Grace Coon of Saskatchewan, Canada; Elsie O. Berkler, Spencer; Harry J., Storm Lake, Warren E., Oakland, Cal., and Leslie O., Sulphur Springs. She was preceded in death by her husband and three children, Edward F., Albert E., and Alice Mackay.

She united with the Methodist church at an early age. She was an active and faithful member of the Methodist church of Truesdale as long as her health permitted. She later transferred her membership to the Methodist church of Storm Lake. Since the death of her husband she has made her home with her sons, Harry J. and Leslie O. Myers. She is survived by her six children, 29 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
