Brian Lee McKeon (5/30/1958 - 4/3/16)
A resident of Waukee, IA, Brian worked in the financial services industry. Brian died in a motorcycle accident in rural Madison County, Iowa.
Brian was born in Des Moines, Iowa to James David McKeon and Pauline (Dixie) McKeon Maher. Brian had one sister Mara McKeon Brown of Urbandale, Iowa and two brothers Michael McKeon of Des Moines & Richard McKeon of Aurora, Colorado. Brian is survived by his two sons and two daughters: Carrick Austin McKeon, age 26 of San Diego, CA, Kevin Lee McKeon, age 24 of San Diego, CA, Jayne Nell McKeon, age 20 of Des Moines, IA, Grace Miller McKeon, age 17 of Des Moines, IA.
He had a zest for life, exploration and being outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, mountaineering, SCUBA diving, sailing and travel. He enjoyed restoring vintage bicycles and riding them. What Brian enjoyed most was the companionship that he shared with his family, girlfriend Kim Berthusen of Des Moines, Iowa and his classmates from Roosevelt High School class of 1977.
He died while doing one of his favorite activities; He was scouting for the upcoming spring wild turkey season in Iowa.
Brian will be remembered for the strong bond he held with his children. He was considerate and willing to help others.
A funeral ceremony will take place at Plymouth Congregational Church (4126 Ingersoll Ave) in Des Moines at 10:00 AM on Thursday April 7, 2016. There will be a small reception afterwards at Plymouth. Arrangements were provided by Caldwell Parrish.
