Rites Thursday For J. D. Rippey

COON RAPIDS - Funeral services will be held at 3 p. m., tomorrow at Coder-Anderson Funeral home here for John D. Rippey, 98, who died Monday night at a Tryon Nursing home in Carroll. The Rev. Eldon Jandebeur, pastor of the Christian church, will officiate. Burial will be in the local cemetery.

Mr. Rippey was believed to be the oldest resident in Carroll county. He had been a farmer for more than 50 years and a resident of the county for 75 years.

One son, Charles, Coon Rapids, survives. Mrs. Rippey and a son, Glenn, preceded him in death.

Mr. Rippey was born in June 14, 1853 in Illinois.

A retired farmer, he entered the Carroll nursing home in September, 1946.
