Native of Madison County Succumbs at Age of 76 Years
Mrs. Walter L. Skinner, a native of Madison County, died Oct. 5 at her home near Maxwell, it was learned here this week. She was 76 years of age.
Mrs. Skinner was the former Zeresh E. Harris, daughter of James and Sarah Harris, and was born in this county, Feb. 2, 1871. She was married at Lorimor Aug. 30, 1893, to Walter L. Skinner. They were the parents of four daughters, one of whom died in infancy. Mr. Skinner died 10 years ago.
Surviving are the three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Downs of Huxley, Mrs. Zoa Burns of Champaign, Ill., and Zella Harris of Maxwell. She also leaves two grandchildren, and a brother, Joe Harris of Winterset.
Funeral services were held Oct. 7 from the church of Christ at Collins, and burial was made in the Ashton Cemetery near there.
