MRS. FRED CLAPPER OF TRURO IS DEAD

Resident of That Community Since 1914, Was 70 Years of Age

Mrs. Fred E. Clapper, a resident of Truro since 1914, died at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines, Monday, Oct. 6. She had been a patient at the hospital since Aug. 16. She was 70 years of age.

Mrs. Clapper was the former Ollie May Burkhead, and was born at Prole on Dec. 11, 1876. She was married to Fred E. Clapper on May 30, 1897. They lived at Prole until 1914, when they moved to Truro.

Mr. and Mrs. Clapper were the parents of one daughter, Opal, who died in 1917. Mr. Clapper died in June, 1939.

Mrs. Clapper Had united with the Christian church at Prole in 1912, retaining her membership there until her death. She was also affiliated with Eastern Star.

Near surviving relatives are a nephew, Donald B. McWilliams of Truro, who was reared in her home; and two aunts, Mrs. Rose Keller of Prole, and Mrs. Minnie Shannon of Parsons, Kan.

Funeral services were held Oct. 8 from the Kale funeral home Truro, in charge of the Rev. V. R. Willey. Burial was made in the Worthing Cemetery northeast of Truro.
