FAY KINKENNON RITES HELD HERE

Former Resident Had Died Oct. 4 at Napa, in California

Mrs. Fay S. Kinkennon, whose early life was spent in Madison County, died Saturday, Oct. 4, at Napa, Calif. She was 90 years of age.

Mrs. Kinkinneon was the former Fay Seward, daughter of Jackson and Sadie Berry Seward, and was born June 29, 1887, at Macksburg. Her early life was spent near Macksburg and Peru, and as a young woman she taught school there.

After her marriage to William H. Kinkennon, they lived for many years in Oklahoma and Louisiana, before moving to California two years ago. She had suffered two strokes, and had been in ill health for some time.

In addition to her husband, she leaves five sons, Emmett L. Kinkennon of Venezuela, South America, Everett L. Kinkennon of Shreveport, La., Earl L. Kinkennon of the U. S. Army, Capt. Omar Kinkennon of the U. S. Army, and Ivan A. Kinkennon of Shreveport; one daughter, Mrs. Charles A. Sanches of Richmond; a brother, Earl Seward of Peru; and two sisters, Mrs. Emmett Franks of Peru, and Mrs. Lloyd Dudney of Winterset.

Funeral services were held this Wednesday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home here, in charge of the Rev. G. L. Hufstader, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.

Peru Happenings

Relatives here received word of the sudden death of Mrs. Fay Seward Kinkennon at Napa, Calif., Saturday night, Oct. 4th. Mrs. Kinkennon, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Seward, was born and raised in this community. She and Mr. Kinkennon and her family lived in Oklahoma and Louisiana for a good many years, moving to California about two years ago.

Mrs. Kinkennon had been in ill health for some time, following two strokes. The body will be brought back here for burial services.
