Word was received here Sun. "of the death of Vincent Eyerly, which occurred at the state hospital at Clarinda on Sun. morning.

He was a son of George Eyerly, of Douglas twp., & had been somewhat afflicted with poor health since childhood & some time ago his mental condition was considered such that he was sent to the state hospital at Clarinda for treatment. He leaves a wife and two children.

The funeral was held on Tuesday at the West Star church, near his former home.

Vinson A. Eyerly was born in Madison county, Iowa July 4, 1868 and died February 26, 1905, being 36 yrs., 7 mo. and 22 days old. Mr. Eyerly was married to Miss Lizzie Bailey August 4, 1898, to this union were born two children, a son and a daughter, who still survive him.

He was converted when fourteen years of age and always lived a christian life, being a loving husband, kind father and true friend. In his last hours he chose his favorite song, "Nearer My God to Thee" and expressed his desire and rediness to go to his heavenly home.

Funeral service was conducted by Rev. W. C. Smith at the West Star church and the body laid to rest in the McDonald cemetery at his request.

Vincent Eyerly died at the Hospital for the Insane Sunday Feb. 26th, where he was taken for treatment last December. His wife, who had been at his bedside for the past two weeks, arrived here Monday evening with the remains, and the funeral occurred at the West Star church Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. W. C. Smith. He was laid to his last rest in the McDonald cemetery. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of the entire community.
