Mary McCall was born in Brookfield, Pa. May 13, 1851 and died at Des Moines March 4, 1905 at the age of 51 years, 9 months & 21 days. She moved with her parents from Pa. to Madison co. in 1871. She moved to Des Moines in 1889. Funeral services were held at the home of E. E. McCall and interment made in the Winterset cemetery.

Obituary

Miss Mary J. McCall died last Saturday evening at the home of her sister Mrs. J. Lemon, in Des Moines after an illness of several months. The remains were brought to this city for burial.

Miss McCall was born May 13, 1853, in Pennsylvania and died at Des Moines, March 4th, 1905 being 51 yrs. 9 months and 21 days of age.

She lived with her parents on a farm just south of Winterset for a number of years, but after their death took up her residence at Des Moines where she has lived some sixteen years and where she filled the position as Deputy Recorder for some time.

She was a member of the Presbyterian church and died firm in the faith. She was confined to her bed for nearly a year and her sufferings were at times intense, but she trusted in God for help at all times.

She leaves behind to mourn her loss, three brothers, and one sister, E. E. McCall of this city, Tom McCall, of Chicago, H. C. T. McCall, of Lorimor and Mrs. J. Lemon, of Des Moines.

The funeral occurred from the home of E. E. McCall, Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. R. R. Marquis and was laid to rest in the Rock City cemetery.
