Macksburg

Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Doty of Missouri Valley, spent Friday at the Frank Doty home. They were in this, vicinity to attend the funeral of Mrs. James Smith, which occurred Thursday afternoon at the home, with interment at the Moon cemetery.

Obituary - Mrs. James Smith

Isabelle Doty was born October 4, 1858 and departed this life October 10, 1922.

She was married to James Smith December 20, 1877 and to this union was born seven children, Lewis Samuel of Vining, Oklahoma, Millard Weaver, Jay Earl, and Omer George of Lorimor, Iowa. Three children died in infancy.

She united with the Latter Day Saints Church about sixteen years ago and has lived a Christian life.

Mrs. Smith was born on the farm adjoining where she has spent all her life.

She leaves to mourn her death her aged companion, four sons, eight grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends. She was devoted to her home, was a loving wife and mother and loved her neighbor as herself. To know her was to love her.

The funeral services were conducted at the home by. Rev. Jasper Weber and interment was made in the Macksburg cemetery.
