Ted's Life Story
Ted Keith Boyle, the youngest son of Dale and Lucille Jobst Boyle, was born May 28, 1955, in Dexter, Iowa. A life-long resident of the area he graduated Earlham High School with the Class of 1973. He met Vicky Barr at the Earlham Ice Cream Shop and four years later married her on March 26, 1983 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Dexter, Iowa. Together they made their home in Earlham and to this union had two sons, Blake and Brady.
Ted was an in-state over the road truck driver for over 37 years. During this time he worked for CFS Continental (Sysco Foods), SuperValu, and for the Bulk Mail Center with the United States Postal Service. Ted retired from Standard Forwarding as a Teamster in October 2015 after working there for 18 years. His customers were his trucking family. He prided himself on his customer service and a job well done.
After his full-time job Ted took pride in helping his wife, Vicky and sons with their lawn care and snow removal business.
Ted was a positive and life loving person. He loved to laugh, always appreciated a good joke, and was a loving and caring tireless family man of few words. He was a role model for his sons and some of their friends. Ted was also a faithful Double Red blood donor, giving over 10 gallons of blood during his life-time. Ted attended Peace Lutheran Church with his wife, Vicky.
Ted and Vicky enjoyed watching college and professional sports in their free time. Ted was a devoted husband, father and papa. He was especially proud of his grandchildren, Kendall and his “name sake” Kyler Ted. He tried to his best to hold on until May 2016 to welcome the newest granddaughter.
On Thursday morning, January 28, 2016, Ted passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home in Earlham. He lived 60 years and 8 months. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Vicky, of Earlham; two sons, Blake (wife, Casey) of Earlham and Brady, DVM (wife, Jessica) of Olathe, Kansas; three grandchildren; two siblings, David (wife Carolyn) Boyle of Earlham and Karen (husband, James) Jones of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; his mother-in-law, Ramonia Barr of Earlham; his father-in-law, Darwin (wife, Sheryl) Barr of Huxley; a sister-in-law, Kimberly (husband, Greg) McClelland of Fountain, Colorado; a brother-in-law, James (wife, Vicky) Barr of Waukee; an Aunt Martha Jobst of Earlham; and his most faithful companion, Peach. He is also survived by a host of loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
