Lillian Jean Hadden, Clear Lake

Clear Lake- Lillian Jean Hadden, 85, died Saturday, January 16, 2016, at the Muse Norris Inpatient Unit, Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City.

The family will honor Lillian in a memorial this summer. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and others celebrated her last days with her at home in Clear Lake.

Lillian was born November 27, 1930 to Lloyd and Beda Anderson in Laurens, IA and baptized at Bethany Lutheran Church. She graduated from Laurens High School in 1949 and from Lutheran School of Nursing, Des Moines in 1950 as an LPN. She met her soul mate Charles Edward Hadden in Des Moines and they were married November 19, 1950. They were blessed with four loving children: Donna, Susan, Sharon and Jeff.

Lillian worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Des Moines Lutheran. She and Charlie were active in Glen Echo Christian Church, Des Moines. They enjoyed square dancing, gardening, boating, family camping trips and traveling.

Upon retiring in 1987 they bought a small farm in Winterset, Iowa, where family and friends loved to gather and play, especially for "Charlie Hadden Fun Days." In winter months Charlie and Lil enjoyed friends and activities in southern Texas. They lived briefly in Missouri and then moved to Clear Lake in 2007.

Lil loved going to Opportunity Village to exercise in the pool with the Aqua Bells and going to coffee.

Lil will be remembered as a strong, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her wise words and positive attitude will live on with her family and friends. Her family was her greatest joy.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Charlie, and children: Donna (Dwight) Creger, IN; Susan (Sidney) Jacobson D.M., IA; Sharon (Randy) Conrad, Clear Lake, IA; Jeffery (Tracy) Hadden, Westfield, IN also nine grandchildren: Cody Creger; Corie (Tim) Elkin, Rachel Jacobson, Noah (Ari) Jacobson, Jesse (Kim) Conrad, Cassie (Jon) Shear, Sam (Liz) Hadden, Joe Hadden, and Will Hadden; and nine great-grandchildren.
