Accidently Shot.

Fletcher Van Gilder, a young man who learned his trade of blacksmithing with his uncle, Nat Anderson, five or six years ago, was accidently killed by the discharge of a gun while getting out of a boat near Colfax. He had gone down the river hunting with a companion and in stepping out of the boat his gun was discharged, the entire load passing into his breast. He lived but a moment afterward. His aunt Mrs. Anderson went to Colfax Monday morning to attend the funeral. Van Gilder was a resident of Winterset for three years or more and was a young man who had many friends.
