Naomi Welcher, 68, of Thayer, died Wed. Dec. 9, 2015 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Memorial gathering will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, at Pleasant Valley Church, south of Thayer. The Rev. Dwayne Henrichs will officiate.
Inurnment will be at a later day. Memorials may be given to Pleasant Valley Church.
Online condolences may be left at www.iowacremation.com.Naomi LaVonne Welcher, daughter of Marion "Shorty" and Irene (Kiser) Boblett, was born Oct. 17, 1947. She graduated from Menlo High School in 1965.
On June 22, 1968, Naomi married Delbert Welcher. She worked at Gummy Bear in Creston, a nursing home in Winterset and Dekko Industries in Afton.
Naomi is survived by her daughters, Deana Welcher (Les Vanderpluym) of Thayer and Dorothy Welcher of Afton; son Dwayne Welcher of Kellerton; sisters-in-law, Jean Williamson of Creston, Jerri Ray of Orient, Beulah Welcher of Mt. Pleasant and Gaylene Welcher of Overland Park, Kansas; stepdaughters, Denise (Robert) Rowe of Arispe and Dora (Vernon) Atteberry of Creston; step-son, Danny (wife Judy) Welcher of Lorimor; grandchildren, Jake Rowe (Alyssum Jones), Lacy Rowe, Angie Morgan, Lee (Beth) Madison, Nicki Welcher, Anna Welcher, Zachary Welcher, Gabriel Welcher, Brian Welcher, Casey Welcher, Cheyanne Straw, Tabitha and Branden Alderson, Gregory Welcher, Zach Welcher, Harlette Feurstein, Jaxson Welcher, Jayden Welcher and Janessa Welcher; great-grandchildren, Savannah Jones, Andrew Rowe, Nathaniel Rowe, Samantha Proffitt, Wyatt Proffitt, Haylee Morgon, Ellee Madison, Lucas Welcher, Nevaeh Welcher, Avery Welcher, Matthew Welcher, Bentley Welcher, Silas Welcher, Ray Straw and Amriel Alderson; three aunts and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Naomi was preceded in death by her husband; parents; father- and mother-in-law Clarence and Minnie Welcher; bothers-in-law, Jimmie Rex Welcher, Alvin Welcher, Raymond Welcher, Kenneth Ball, John Williamson, Don Ray and Ed Williams, sisters-in-law, Rosetta Welcher and Evelyn Williams, son Dwight Welcher and step-son Dale Welcher.
