O. H. Jeffrey Services Held

Funeral services were held May 7 at the Fisher Funeral Home in Adel for O. H. Jeffrey, long-time business man in Earlham. Burial was in Resthaven in Des Moines.

Fred Petersen, Merlyn Frey and Clair Gipple of Earlham and Russell Stayner, William Hague and Dave Steel of Adel served as pall bearers. Many of his friends from Earlham also attended the services.

Orloff Howe Jeffrey was born in Stanford, Ill., June 26, 1885.

At an early age he came with his parents to Geneseo, Ill., where he spent his young manhood.

In 1906 he and a friend traveled through New Mexico with a team and wagon; after which he engaged in the confectionary business in Altus, Okla.

On February 18, 1908 he was united in marriage to Belva L. Butzer. To them two children were born, Richard B. and Margaret Johnson, both of Adel. He brought his family to Iowa in 1914 where he was engaged in farming. He was engaged in the stock business in Earlham for some 25 years.

His parents and one sister preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter, two brothers, E. B. Jeffrey of Oklahoma City, and M. R. Jeffrey of Missoula, Mont.; two grandsons, Ray and Carl Johnson and ten nephews and nieces.
