Winterset people were shocked to hear of the death of Mrs. Harriet Marvin, Monday evening about five o'clock at the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines. Her friends knew that she was in poor health but few realized the seriousness of her illness. She was taken to Des Moines last Thursday and she was operated upon for cancer, Monday morning,
The deceased was born in New York about seventy-five years ago. She came here with her husband, C. A. Marvin forty years ago from Des Moines and Mr. Marvin was express agent here for many years.
Mrs. Marvin is survived by four children, Ray of Chicago, Don of Minneapolis, Mrs. P. J. Genricher of Polk City and Mrs. Fred Farlow of Winterset. Funeral services were held yesterday at 2 o'clock at Lilly's funeral home and burial was made in Woodland cemetery.

Harriet B. Coffin
Harriet B. Coffin was born April 26, 1851, at Colo, Ill. , and died at Luthern hospital March 1, 1926. When a child of four years she came to Tama county, Iowa with her parents, where she grew to womanhood.
She united with the Christian church at 18 years of age. She was united in marriage to Clayton A. Marvin, October 19, 1871, who died February 17, 1923. Six children were born to this union Charles, who died in infancy, Nellie M Gemricher. of Polk City, Mable M. Kurtz, who died January 18, 1924; Don A. of Minneapolis, Minn., Ray R., of Chicago, and Pearl L. Farlow, of Winterset.
Mrs. Marvin was a resident of Winterset. Iowa, 38 years and leaves to mourn her loss, many relatives and friends.
