Harvey Albert Fett, the son of Jacob Fett and his wife, Louise nee Schlossnagel, was born in a farm home near Dexter on November 27th, 1880. After his graduation from a rural school, he took up the vocation of farming and continued there until his retirement to the town of Dexter about 10 years ago. In 1953 he was taken to Iowa City for a treatment of a disease which proved to be incurable. He departed this life in a hospital at Perry at the age of 75 years, three months and 24 days. He lived his entire life in the Dexter community, where he was known for his kindness and willingness to help people in need.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Zion Lutheran church. The deceased was never married.

The only immediate surviving relation is a sister, Mrs. Laura Boyle of Clarinda, nieces and nephews. His funeral service was held in Zion Lutheran church at Dexter on Friday afternoon, March 23 with Rev. A. C. Weber, officiating. A quartette of the congregation sang appropriate funeral hymns. Pallbearers were Richard and Walter Clausen, Fred Lenocker, Bert Jobst, Henry Benz, and Harold Jobst. The body was laid to rest in the Penn Center cemetery.

Funeral services were held in Zion Lutheran church at Dexter Mar. 23, with Rev. C. A. Weber officiating. A quartet sang funeral hymns. Quartet members were Don Weber, Leonard Scar, Mary Benz and Helen Clausen. Zelda Clausen was organist.

Pall bearers were Richard Clausen, Fred Lenocker, Walter Clausen, Bert Jobst, Henry Benz and Harold Jobst.

Interment was in the Penn Center cemetery southeast of Dexter.

Those attending the services from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Fett and Mrs. and Mrs. Fred Fett of Adair, Mable James of Stuart; Mr. and Mrs. Dale Fett and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Fett and Eldora Fett of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Boyle and Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Price of Vivan, S. Dak.; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smith, Jr. of Earlham and Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Jones of Menlo.
