Funeral Services Held For Mamie Welch

Funeral services were held at Gail Leeper Funeral Home Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. for Mrs. Mamie Welch. Rev. Anthony Blankers was in charger of the services. Burial was in the Earlham cemetery.

Mrs. Welch, mother of Leonard and James Welch of Earlham, had been in failing health for the past several months. She was in the Methodist hospital in Omaha at the time of her death.

Mamie Mae Laugherty was born in Ashland, Ohio on February 6, 1885, and departed this life in the Methodist hospital in Omaha, Nebraska on January 27, 1956 at the age of seventy years, eleven months, and twenty-one days.

On February 10, 1902, she was united in marriage to Herman Buchanan Welch, who preceded her in death on June 24, 1914.

She leaves to mourn her passing a half sister, Mrs. James Berry, and her step mother, Mrs. Charles Laugherty, both of Ashland, Ohio; two sons, Leonard Welch and James Welch and their wives Arlene and Helen Jo, all of Earlham; one daughter, Mrs. William King, and her husband, of Omaha, Nebraska; and five grandchildren, Elaine Welch, Susan Welch, James Welch, Jr., Christine King, and Cheryl King.
