Mrs. Detlef Passick died at the General hospital in Des Moines Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at the Earlham Presbyterian church Saturday, May 22 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Donald E. Freeman in charge. Burial will be in Hayes Township cemetery near Manning.
Further services will be held at the Odhe Funeral Home at Manning at 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Passick had been in ill health for some time. She was 70 years old.

Thursday, May 27, 1954Mrs. Detlef Passick died at the Des Moines General hospital last Wednesday afternoon, May 19. She had been in Wilden hospital for ten days and had been to Rochester about a week and then went to the General hospital for treatment. She seemed to be improving when her condition suddenly became worse.
Funeral services were held at the Earlham Presbyterian church Saturday, May 22 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Donald E. Freeman in charge.
Further services were held at the Odhe Funeral home at Manning at 2:30 Saturday afternoon. Burial was in the Hayes Township cemetery near Manning.
Lena Marguerita Lamp was born to Henry and Katherina Lamp October 9, 1883 at Westside, Crawford county, Iowa, and passed away May 19, 1954 at the age of 70 years, seven months and 10 days at the Des Moines General hospital. She was the oldest of seven children, two sisters having preceded her in death. She grew to womanhood in the Westside community and on January 25, 1911 was united in marriage to Detlef Passick. To this union were born six children: Herbert of Sac City; Elmer of Stuart; Arlo of Ankeny; Phyllis (Mrs. Roland Michael) of Granger; Orpha, (Mrs. Charles Derrickson) of Earlham; a daughter, Iona preceded her mother in death.
The family lived in the Crawford and Carroll county communities until 1934 when the family moved to Polk City and in 1942 Mr. and Mrs. Passick bought a farm home near Earlham where they now live. In 1951 Mr. and Mrs. Passick joined the Presbyterian church in Earlham.
Besides her husband and children she leaves to mourn 11 grandchildren, two grandchildren having preceded her in death, three sisters, Mrs. John Mohr and Mrs. Earl Brown both of Westside, and Mrs. Lenore Keat of Downey, California; and one brother, Herman Lamp of Westside; and a host of relatives and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a friend to all who knew her.
