Sylvia Benson, 87, of Winterset died Friday, Sept. 11, 2015.
Services are being handled by the Cremation Society of Iowa. Internment in the Winterset Cemetery will be announced at a later date.
Sylvia Marie Pullman was born Sept. 8, 1928, to Lena Senn Pullman and Emerald Alvin Pullman Sr. (see WWI plaque on first floor of Madison County Courthouse). She was a 1945 graduate of Winterset High School, and a graduate of Bible studies at Faith Baptist Bible in Omaha, Neb. Sylvia worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Winterset and Omaha, as well as a portrait studio in Des Moines. Sylvia was married in July 1956 at the First Baptist Church in Winterset to Robert H. Benson; to this union five children were born. She became a homemaker.
She is survived by her children: Daniel, Christopher, Timothy, Andrea and Robin; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
