William Orval Stevens, 87, of Milan, Ill., formerly of Truro, died Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, in St. Charles, Iowa.
Rosary will be recited at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys, Iowa, on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015 at 2 p.m., followed by visitation at St. Marys Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Bill was born May 18, 1928 in Newcastle, Wy., the son of Orval Jasper Stevens and Mary Margaret McCann Stevens. He married Sandie Farnsworth on Sept. 30, 1950, in Rapid City, SD. After serving in the Armed Forces he went on to become a carpenter for nearly 50 years. Bill built the home where he and Sandie raised their family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandie.
He is survived by his children, DeeDee (Ed) Buchanan of Panora, Sherry (Roger) Mason of Des Moines, Ginny (Greg) VanHoorebeck of Milan, Ill., Joni (Larry) Nelson of St. Charles and Kelly (Sandy) Stevens of Milan, Ill; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Kale Funeral Home in Osceola.
