Randy Bane, 58, of Ankeny, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015 at home.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 4 at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset; where family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 5 at the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset, with burial to follow in the Winterset Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family and on-line condolences may be left at ochiltree.com.
Randal Wayne Bane, son of Jerry and Wanda (Davis) Bane, was born on December 29, 1956 in Reno, Nevada. The family moved to Winterset following Jerry’s service in the United States Air Force. Randy was a 1975 graduate of Winterset High School and married Terri Jacobs on June 28, 1980 in Perry, Iowa.
Randy drove truck for Heartland Express and Dohrn Transfer for the past ten years. He was a member of the Abate of Iowa Motorcycle Club. Randy collected show cars, his favorite being his 1970 Plymouth Cuda.
He collected antique cameras and anything Harley Davidson. Randy loved his Harleys and riding with Terri to his favorite place, South Dakota; heading there for Sturgis and any other chance he had.
Above all else, Randy was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished the time he was able to spend with his family.
Randy is survived by his wife of 35 years, Terri Bane of Ankeny; daughters, Tisha (Kipp) Lenth of Ankeny, Melissa Bane of Cedar Rapids and son, Jason (Miriam) Bane of Austin, TX; parents, Jerry and Wanda Bane of Urbandale; parents in law, Jake and Carol Jacobs of Winterset; grandchildren; Kinzee Epperly, Clayton Brown, Cailey Brown, Jenna Kirby; twin brother, Ronnie (Donna) Bane of Winterset; sister, Theresa (Michael) Fulton of Tamba Bay, FL; extended family and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by two nieces and a nephew.
