Jesse Cook, formerly of Union county and a son of the late Samuel Cook, passed away at his home near Billings Mont., last Sunday after a long illness.

Deceased had been a sufferer of that dread disease tuberculosis, for several years and had traveled extensively in New Mexico, Arizona, and Colorado in the hope of being benefited and later located near Billings. A short time ago he suffered an attack of influenza and seemingly had recovered, but took a relapse and in his weakened condition was unable to withstand the ravages of the disease and death ensured.

The remains, accompanied by his brothers, Leonard, of Montana, and Ed. of Kersey, Colo., and his sisters, Mrs. Walter Cochran of near Lorimor, and Mrs. D.C Dale, of Edin, Okla., arrived in Afton Tuesday evening and were taken to the Cochran home. Funeral services were held at that home yesterday afternoon and were followed by interment in the Macksburg cemetery.

Deceased was a nephew of S.G. and J.W. Hammans of Afton and has many friends here who will learn of his death with regret.
