January 1955Olive Mae Howe Kale, died at age 71, the widow of the late W. D. Kale, Truro funeral director, services will be held here at 2 p.m. Friday at the Kale Funeral Home. Mrs. Kale died of cancer at the Clarke County Hospital in Osceola Tuesday after an illness of several months. Surviving are two sons, Loren and Marvin, a brother, Frank Howe of Buffalo, Who., and four grandchildren. (note on clipping says Jan 10, 1955)

Death of Truro Resident Had Occurred at Osceola on Jan. 10
Funeral services were held last Saturday from the Kale Funeral home in Truro for Mrs. Olive M. Kale, member of a prominent family in that community, whose death had occurred Tuesday, Jan. 10 at the Clarke County hospital in Osceola.
Mrs. Kale was 71 years of age at her death. She was the widow of the late W. D. Kale of Truro, whose death occurred in 1947.
Mrs. Kale was the former Olive Mae Howe, daughter of Samuel and Hattie Howe. She was born April 6, 1884, on a farm southwest of Truro. She married W. D. Kale Jan. 31, 1906, and they were parents of three sons. Her eldest son, Herbert, died in 1928.
She was a member of the Congregational Christian church at Truro, and was affiliated with the Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving are two sons, Loren and Marvin Kale of Truro; a brother, Frank Howe of Buffalo, Wyo.; and four grandchildren.
The Rev. Frederick Cooper of Grinnell conducted her funeral services Saturday. Burial was made at Ebeneezer cemetery.

Life Long Resident of Truro Died Here Tuesday; Was 71 Years Old
Olive Mae Kale of Truro, widow of W. D. Kale, died at the Clarke county hospital Tuesday. She was 71 year old.
A resident of the Truro community her entire life, she was born near there on April 6, 1884, a daughter of Samuel C. and Hattie Howe.
Her husband Doss, died in 1947.
She was a member of the Congregational church and the Eastern Star at Truro.
Survivors include two sons, Loren and Marvin Kale, both of Truro; one brother Frank Howe of Buffalo, Wyoming; and four grandchildren.
Services for Mrs. Kale will be at the Kale Funeral home in Truro at 2:00 o’clock Friday afternoon with Rev. Frederick Cooper and Rev. Walter Shilling officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer cemetery.
