Mona Ellen Creger Kale, second daughter of Theodore and Mary Swearingen Creger, was born near Truro, November 15, 1890 and passed to the Great Beyond at her home in Truro December 22, 1937, aged 47 years, one month, and seven days.

She was united in marriage at the home of her parents to Charlie C. Kale on October 12, 1910, and to this union two sons were born, Charles Carmen, who is a student at Iowa Wesleyan college, at Mount Pleasant, and Jack Theodore, who is at home.

She accepted Christ as her Saviour when a young girl and united with the Methodist church in Truro but after her marriage, she transferred her membership to the Christian church at Truro of which her husband was a member. She was always faithful to her church and was active in the work and ready and willing to do all that she could as long as her health permitted. She has lived all her life in this vicinity moving from the home of her parents east of Truro, to Truro after her marriage.

Her father passed away February 5, 1922. Two years ago she was stricken with a dreaded disease but after an operation, she seemed to recover for a time, but several months ago she began to fail and all that medical science and loving care could do for her was done, but to no avail. She gradually slipped away to the Land from whence no one returneth. She was so hopeful all through her sickness and expressed the thought so many times that she wanted to get well as she had so much to live for and almost her last words were "I want to get well." She was patient in her suffering and was always cheerful, greeting everyone with a smile who came around her. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, and a true friend.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, two sons, her mother, Mrs. George Foster, two sisters, Mrs. Euphemia Robinson and Mrs. Honor Reed, other relatives and a host of friends.
