Theo Dosha Bernau, daughter of Mary and George Junkin, was born November 9, 1891, at Dexter, Iowa. She departed this life in a Des Moines hospital on April 13, 1958, at the age of 66 years, five months and four days.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Trinity Lutheran church of Van Meter. On January 3, 1912 she was united in marriage to John (Jack) Bernau of De Soto, Iowa, and to this union were born two sons and two daughters. Since 1920 her home has been on the farm northeast of Earlham. The deceased was a loyal member of her church, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and a faithful friend.

She leaves to mourn her three children, Ila, the wife of George Wilder, of Ogden, William of Corona Del Mar, California; and Vida, the wife of D. W. Sisco, of Ottumwa; nine grandchildren, Joan, of Des Moines, Bud and Rowena, of Omaha, Mary Jean, of Fairfield; Larry, Ross and Sherry of Ogden and William and Tari Dawn of Ottumwa; and four great-grandchildren. Marc and Kyra of Des Moines and Stanley and Beyerly of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, her husband andone son. Her brothers and sisters surviving are: Mamie Tate of Jackson, Minnesota; Joy Junkin of Earlham. Isabelle Bast of, Dexter; Hazel McCleary of Adel; Walter Judkin, of Des Moines, and Chester Junkin of Perry. In addition there are many nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service was conducted on April 15, 1958, in Trinity Lutheran church, Van Meter, by Rev. A. C. Weber, the interim pastor of the congregation. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Leeper Funeral Home of Earlham. Her body was laid to rest beside that of her husband in the Earlham cemetery
