Viola Grimes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Grimes, who was born April 23, 1872, in South township, Madison county, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 1928, at Mercy hospital, Des Moines, at the age of 55 years, 11 months and 25 days.

The early years of her life were spent in this community, and in the year 1897, was united in marriage to J. H. Leak, of Lorimor. After making their home for several years, they moved to Crowder, Oklahoma, where they have lived up to the present time. Her husband preceded her in death eight years ago. To this union were born two sons, Raymond, of Shamrock, Oklahoma and S. G., of Crowder, Oklahoma.

At an early age she united with the M. E. Church at Peru, Iowa. She leaves to mourn her loss two sons, her aged mother , four sisters and six brothers and a number of relatives
