Morris L. Oglesbee, Indianola

Morris L. Oglesbee, 91, was taken from us on Monday, February 2, 2015 at The Village in Indianola, IA as a result of pancreatic cancer. Per his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no services.

Morris was born on January 16, 1924 in Peru, IA. He spent most of his life in St. Charles, Winterset and Indianola. Morris very much enjoyed any and all company. He may have come off hard and grouchy and you can bet that anytime you would see him you better be prepared for the hard slug to your arm that would leave you feeling like it was broken, but he sure had a way of making everyone feel special in his own unique way. He worked for Cooper Trucking as a truck driver/mechanic, Mill's Motor's, and Farm Service. Also served in the Army, he enjoyed different things, but spent most of his time outdoors, farming, working with cattle, in the barn with bottle calves. Best of all picking apples from the apple tree's to make the most delicious homemade applesauce and homemade ice cream.

Morris is survived by his sisters, Lorraine (Willard) England of Earlham and Thelma (Bernard) Gray of St. Charles; brothers, Harry (Shirley) Oglesbee Jr. of Broomfield CO. and Gerald (Deloris) Oglesbee of Avondale AZ, many nieces and nephews, also a host of very close friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle (Hess) Oglesbee and father, Jerry Oglesbee and his step-father Harry Oglesbee Sr. Online condolences may be made at www.overtonfunerals.com . -
