Wilma H. McFarlin, 90, died Dec. 28, 2014, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
Burial will be in Winterset and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Wilma was born Feb. 1, 1924, in Glenvil, Neb., to John Loschen and Hazel (Hilligas) Loschen. Her family moved to Iowa in 1927 where she graduated from Earlham High School. Wilma married Charles McFarlin on Sept. 30, 1944. They had three children. Wilma was homemaker most of her life, and was a valued church and community volunteer. She and Chuck lived in Van Meter, moving later to Winterset, where they lived for many years. They then moved to Clinton, Mo., to be near their son David and his family. Eight years ago, Wilma returned to live out her years in Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her parents; and her sister, Betty.
She is survived by her children Linda (Steve) Hall, Christy (Jim) Brown and David (Julie) McFarlin; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
