Vivian 'Bib' Orr, Winterset
February 25, 1923 - December 9, 2014

Vivian Orr, 91 of Winterset, died Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at home.

A visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m., Friday, December 12, at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset where the family will be present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 13 at Ochiltree’s with burial to immediately follow in the Winterset Cemetery. Memorials to the family will be appreciated.

Vivian Francis Allen, daughter of Charles and Anna (Hildebrand) Allen, was born February 25, 1923 at her home near Winterset. She attended school in Winterset and graduated in the class of 1941.

Bib was united in marriage to Hal Orr in the spring of 1942 at Grant City, Missouri. She was a homemaker and farmwife, raising her children and helping Hal run their farm. Later, Bib worked as a housekeeper at Villa West (later Bethesda Care Center) in Winterset and retired after more than 30 years.

Bib was an avid reader and enjoyed her crafts and especially loved to paint. She also enjoyed tending to her flowers and caring for all of her beloved animals. All of this said, she loved nothing more than any time spent with her family.

Bib is survived by her children, Garry (Mary Ann) Orr and Patti Henry both of Winterset; five grandchildren, Tawyne (Jay) Gibson, Tasha, Teyona, and Chism Orr, and Hiedi (Jason) Scoles. She is further survived by fourteen great grandchildren: Tayia and Bryner Gibson; Tealey, Brent, and Blake Schwingendorf; Ellie, Taryn & Trigg Steenhoek; Josie and Jenna Orr; brothers Wayne (JoAnn) Allen, Robert (Glenora Parker) Allen.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; sisters Jean Lehman, Doris “Doad” Olsen, Eldora “Toots” Parker, Margaret “Mug” Flescher.
