The daughter of Vernon Miller and Ida Grace Grovenburg, Audrey was born April 17, 1926, in Poweshiek County, Iowa. Audrey married Calvin Tyer of Winterset in Colfax, Iowa, on July 4, 1948. Their home was in Polk City, Iowa, during the summers and Lakeland, Fla., in the winter months.

Audrey is survived by her husband, Calvin Tyer of Polk City, Iowa; children, James Tyer of Polk City, Linda (Lloyd) Cunningham of Lakeland, Fla., and Judy (Ron) McMains of Newton, Iowa. There are five grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren, with many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by four sisters-in-law, Betty Miller, Dorothy (Dot) Miller, Dorothy Miller and Joan Miller.

Audrey was preceded in death by her sons, Larry and Glenn Vernon (Lucky); sister, Verna (Sis); and 10 brothers, Walter, Harold, Harry, Glenn, Adrian, Richard, Raymond, Donald, Larry (Gene) and Gerald (Jed).

Audrey worked at the North Manor in Winterset, as a flagger for a road construction company, and was the best homemaker ever. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed canning, gardening, bowling and volleyball, flea markets, garage sales, fishing, country music and spending time with family and friends. She loved watching the Hawkeyes play.

Each spring she would spend much of her time readying for the Miller Family Reunion. Everyone was ready to eat her chicken and noodles that she was famous in the family for making. She loved being with her family most – brothers, sisters, in-laws and their families.

Audrey will be missed by all, but has joined her sons, brothers, sister and friend in the great big family reunion in Heaven.

We love you, Mom!
I love you, Ma!
