Mortuary

Lois E. Hutchins, daughter of John and Ann Hutchins, was born September 9, 1869, in Madison county, Iowa, near the Fairview church, where her girlhood days were spent, and where she taught school for a few years. She attended the Van Meter public schools and took her normal training preparation at Simpson college, Indianola. She united with the Fairview Methodist church when a young woman, later transferring her membership to the De Soto Methodist church when Rev. F. L. Watkins was pastor in ----.

She was married to Leander V. Williamson on December 12th, 1894 and to this union were born seven children, son Roger Joe, who died at the age of thirteen years. She passed away at the age of 59 years, -- months and 22 days at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines, April 1, 1928. She is survived by her husband, Leander V. Williams, and six children, Irwin E. Williams, Waterloo; Marjorie Davis, Mabel Jefferson, Irma Shannon, and Hugh Williams, of Des Moines, and Mary Elizabeth, at home. She is also survived by her mother, Mrs. Ann Hutchins, who is nearly 91 years old, of Lamar, Colorado; two sisters, Mayme Howell, Ontario, California; Leo MacLean, Lamar, Colorado; three brothers, Dr. A. C. Hutchins, Des Moines; L. J. Hutchins, Lamar, Colorado; C. B. Hutchins, LaJunta, Colorado, and by six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist church at De Soto, in charge of Rev. L. B. Shannon, a former pastor, also related to the family by marriage, April 4th, at two o’clock. He was assisted by the pastor of the church, Rev. James Walls. Interment was at De Soto. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, Dallas Camp, No. 7899 at De Soto.
