William Dugan, a member of the soldiers home from Winterset died at the hospital Friday afternoon of heart failure resulting from marasmus and other complications. Mr. Dugan was admitted to the institution on Jan. 15, 1901, together with his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Dugan, who survives him.
Mr. Dugan was a member of Company I, One Hundred Sixteenth Indiana Infantry, having enlisted at Lafayette, Ind., June 21, 1862. His discharge was also at Lafayette and dates from March 1864.
Mr. Dugan was a native of Indiana and was born June 3, 1830, at Brownsville, The funeral will be held from the assembly hall at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon, Chaplain Jesse Cole officiating. Interment will be at the Home cemetery.
