A lifetime resident of Madison county, Ethol H. Rhoads, 84, born September 10, 1894, in Madison County, died Friday, Nov. 17, 1978, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
He was the son of Lafe and Elizabeth McLarnand Rhoads and married Velma Rhea Delaplain on December 1, 1915 in Madison County. She died July 19, 1967.
Mr. Rhoads was a farmer and affiliated with the Methodist Church. He belonged to the Odd Fellows and Rebekah Lodge. He is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins and was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services for Ethol Rhoads were conducted Monday, Nov. 20, at 1:30 p.m. from Macksburg United Methodist Church with Rev. John Ackerman officiating. Burial was made in the Moon Cemetery.
