Florence Lillian, daughter of George and Anna Hodson, was born in Clinton county, Ohio, March 13, 1864 and died February 13, 1901, aged 36 years and 11 months. She was second in a family of eight children, all of whom, with her parents, survive here. When 13 years of age she came with her parents to Dallas county where she has lived most of the time. In 1883 she was married to George Couch; to them was born three children—two daughters and one son; the son died when but 2 ˝ years old.

She gave herself to Christ at the age of 16, and has since been a devoted member of the U.B. church and died in a faith stronger by far than the ties which held her to her earthly possessions. During her long sickness she was a patient sufferer and longed to go to her rest and her darling baby. She leaves besides her loving husband and daughters Mabel and Lora, a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn her loss.

The funeral services were held in the Friends church on last Friday, conducted by Rev. John Stribling. Her remains were laid away in the Earlham cemetery.
