August 24, 1905Dr. S. O. Edwards passed away at his home Saturday afternoon after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Sunday morning in Friends church, conducted by the pastor, following which the remains were taken to Wiscotta for interment. The Modern Woodmen of which deceased was a member had charge of the services.
Samuel Orren Edwards, son of Ira W. and Naomie L. Edwards, was born in Dallas county, Iowa, Aug. 6, 1869, and died at his home in Earlham, Iowa, Aug. 19, 1905.
March 30, 1891, he was united in marriage with Mary Tice, who with two sons, mourn the departure of the husband and father.
The deceased lived in Dallas county until two years ago when he moved into Earlham. In July 1904 he suffered from a stroke of paralysis from which he never recovered, and which has stricken him down in the strength of his manhood.
He was a birthright member of Friends church but at the time of his marriage untied with the Pleasant Hill United Brethren church, of which he was a member at his death.
