Roy Howard Armes, 69, of Edgerton, Wisc., died Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at Agrace Hospice Care in Madison, Wisc.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville, Ill., with Pastor Randy Sells officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time on Saturday at Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville. Memorials may be given to the Pleasant Plains High School Music Program (500 N Cartwright St, Pleasant Plains, IL 62677) and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Newell Funeral Home, 505 East Main Street Waltonville, IL 62894.

Roy Howard Armes was born Feb. 4, 1945, in Lincoln, Ill., the son of Roy Hayward Armes and Maxine (Johnstone). He married Martha Janeice (Gajewski) on Oct. 21, 1966, in Hoopeston, Ill. Roy was a member of the Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Janesville, Wisc. Roy was a 1963 graduate of Pleasant Plains High school and a 1967 graduate of Millikin University. He worked as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Hayward Armes; and his wife, Martha Janeice Armes.

He is survived by his mother, Maxine Armes of Edgerton; son, Chris Armes of Edgerton; daughter, Gretta Albrecht (Chris Capaldo) of Ames, Iowa; three grandchildren; and a sister, Judy (Jerry) Nichols of Litchfield, Ky.
