Sept 20, 1906Mrs. Christene Nelson, wife of N. C. Nelson, died Saturday evening Sept. 9, 1906, after an illness of several weeks. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the M.E. church, conducted by Rev. Harvey. Interment was in Earlham cemetery. Mrs. Nelson had suffered much the last few weeks, but through it all she manifested great fortitude and when she realized the end was near declared she was ready and willing to pass over.
Christene Wilhelminnie Boyer was born in Logsted, Denmark, in 1866, and came to America when 24 years of age. In 1893 she was married to N.C. Nelson at Council Bluffs, Iowa. Soon afterward they came to Earlham and have since made this their home. A large circle of friends mourn with the bereaved husband over his loss.
