Mary Deloris “Dee” Dickerson, 87, of Winterset, formerly of Ottumwa, died Jan. 10, 2014.
A memorial service will be held in the spring, with burial at Shaul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, Ottumwa Hospital Auxiliary, or West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation Center.
Dee was born July 8, 1926, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Porter and Nora Goudy. Dee was a 1944 graduate of Ottumwa High School. She married Mark McDavitt in 1947 and later divorced in 1973. She was employed as an LPN at Ottumwa Hospital. Dee married Floyd J. Dickerson in October 1978. They are members of the Davis Street Christian Church. She was a resident of West Bridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Bonnie Irene Stewart.
She is survived by her husband, Floyd; their children, Michael (Margaret) McDavitt, Stephen (Judy) McDavitt, Mary Brown, Philip McDavitt, James (Mary Jo) McDavitt, Martin (Carlita) McDavitt, Teresa Peterson, Michael (Patty) Dickerson, and Craig (Cindy) Dickerson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sisters Anna McDonald of Concord, NC, and Patty Clawson of Winfield, Ala.
