Charlotte Drake 76, of Creston, passed away Friday, October 25, 2013 at her home.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2013 at the Powers Funeral Home junction of Highway 34 and 25 in Creston. Pastor Dave Tebbenkamp will officiate.

Burial will be in Moon Cemetery, south of Macksburg.

Visitation, with family receiving friends will be noon-1:30 service time on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. In lieu of flowers, memorials are to be established. Online condolences can be given at powersfh.com.

Charlotte Irene Drake was born September 27, 1937 in Corning, Iowa to James Emil Herrick and Lela Irene (Harrison) Herrick. On August 19, 1956, Charlotte was united in marriage to William Edwin Drake in Winterset, Iowa. They settled and lived near Macksburg until 1979, then moving to Creston. Charlotte worked as Activity Director at Creston Nursing & Rehab Center for 5 years and did private in-home care, retiring in 2002. She was formerly a member of the First Baptist Church and Crest Baptist Church in Creston.

Charlotte is survived by her husband Bill Drake of Creston; four daughters, Sheryl (husband Robert) Moore of Santa Rosa, Calif.; Barbara Halls of Creston, Debbie (husband Steven) Waddingham of Macksburg and Eileen (husband Robert) Maynes of West Des Moines; two sons, Warren (wife Karen) Drake of Macksburg and Mitch (wife Debbie) Drake of Des Moines; three brothers, Charles (wife Katherine) Herrick of Winterset, Paul (wife Marilyn) Herrick of Perry and David Herrick of Grantsville, Utah; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Herrick of Farmington and Nellie (husband Raymond) McDonald of Winterset; 11 grandchildren, Angela (Barry) Myhr, Christopher Maynes (Tawny Symonds), Matthew Maynes, Jordan Maynes, Brandon (Gwen) Waddingham, Brett (Nancy) Waddingham, Robert (Jenn) Moore, Jessie Moore, Karmen (Mike) Sheldahl, William Drake, Josh Drake and 6 great-grandchildren, Benjamin Myhr, Jeremiah Myhr, Irena Symonds, Charlotte Maynes, Seraphina Moore and Jeremy Waddingham.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Neva (Roscoe) Sirdoreus and her brother, Dean Herrick.
