After an illness of several weeks, J. B. Prine passed away at his home north of town, last Thursday. Funeral services were conducted Friday from the M. E. church in Macksburg, with interment at Moon cemetery.
Mr. Prine was a man highly respected by his friends and will be greatly missed in the community. We extend sympathy to the bereaved wife in the loss of a life companion; also to the other relatives who mourn his departure to the greater life beyond.

Jacob B. Prine was born in Highland county, Ohio, September 7, 1843 and died at his home north of Macksburg, December 7, 1922, aged 79 years and 3 months.
He was married to Miss Emily J. Abbott, December 18, 1873 and moved to the state of Missouri in 1882. In 1894 he moved to Madison county, Iowa of which he was a resident until his death.
He united with the Christian church in his young manhood, later in life uniting with the M. E. church in Macksburg of which he was a member until life closed.
The funeral services were conducted in his home church after which he was laid to rest in the Macksburg cemetery. He leaves to mourn, a devoted wife, six brothers and three sisters, besides a host of friends.
