Hazel Delores Lambert, 92, passed away October 6, 2013. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Merle Hay Funeral Home, 4400 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines from 6 to 8 p.m. Private family burial will take place at Chapel Hill Gardens.
Delores was born in Peru, Iowa on September 19, 1921 to Edward and Pearl Devine. She lived all of her life in the Des Moines area, and spent the last two years at The New Homestead in Guthrie Center.
Delores was an award winning cake decorator, an avid gardener and painter. Her main priority throughout life was her family.
She is survived by her children, Terry (Edi) Lambert and Donna (Dwayne) Smith; grandchildren, Kevin Lambert, Lora Hacker, Cara Craig, and Jill Schroeder; great-grandchildren, Nathan Kassidy and Roni Craig and Zach, Alex and Blayze Schroeder.
She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings and her husband.
