Page 1Death of Perry Cleveland
Perry Cleveland died on Saturday, May20, following blood poisoning. About two weeks prior to his death, Mr. Cleveland cut one hand on barbed wire. Infection set in rapidly and he was brought to the hospital, where death came. Mr. Cleveland has been living with his mother north of Winterset on a farm. A sister and brother survive him, also his father.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the North Branch U. B. church, with interment in the McDonald cemetery.

Perry Cleveland, who was sick with blood poisoning, died at the Winterset hospital Saturday. Funeral services were held at the North River U.B. church and burial at the McDonald cemetery. Thus passes away another good neighbor and friend who will be missed by all who knew him, as well as those in the home, who have the sympathy of the entire community.

Perry Brainard, son of Erastus and Jennie Cleveland, was born in Madison county, October 30, 1876, and departed this life at the Winterset hospital on May 20, 1922, at the age of 45 years, 6 months and 21 days. This sickness lasted just three weeks and everything was done for him that willing hands could do.
He was a man that loved his home and was of a cheerful disposition. He spent the most of his life in Madison county.
He is survived by his father, mother, two brothers, one sister, a half brother and a half-sister, besides other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the U. B. church Sunday afternoon by Rev. Hollingshead and the remains laid to rest in the McDonald cemetery.
