Death of Oscar Kipp

The remains of Oscar Kipp are to arrive here today from Thermopolis, Wyoming. Ed Kipp was summoned there a month ago to be at the bedside of his brother.

Mortuary

Oscar L. Kipp, the oldest son of W. H. and Anna Kipp, was born Oct. 5, 1865 at Berwick, Ill. When a lad of six years he removed with his parents from Illinois to Iowa, where he grew to young manhood. For the past 35 years he has made his home in Wyoming.

Following two years of illness, he was taken ill six weeks ago at Riverton, Wyo., and later he was moved to Thermopolis, where he underwent an operation from which he did not recover, passing away Sunday morning, May 28, 1922 at the age of 56 years, 7 months and 23 days.

Besides his mother, he leaves three sisters: Mrs. Sadie Clay of Florence, Calif., Mrs. Hattie Jenning of Chicago and Mrs. Edith Haymond of St. Charles; three brothers: Jerome of Wymore, Nebr.; William of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Ed of Winterset; and many other relatives and friends, who mourn his untimely death.

Funeral services were held at the home at two o’clock Thursday afternoon and interment was in the Winterset cemetery. The sermon was preached by Rev. LeRoy C. Cooley pastor of the First Presbyterian church from the text, “He shall feed his flock like a shepherd.”---Isaiah 40:11.
