REX ALLEN BRIGHT

Rex Bright, 84, died Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the Winterset Care Center.

Rex was born April 25, 1929 in Indianola, Iowa to Roy and Florence (Alley) Bright. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines from 1952 to 1954. Rex was employed as a carpenter until his retirement in 1982. He was married to Grace (VanHorn) until her death in 1979. Rex was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.

Rex is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Kurt) Keller, son, Tim Bright, brothers, Dennis Bright and Raymond Bright, sister, Mary Farrell, grandsons, Andy (Kerri) Minor, Cory Cook, and Jason (Jayme) Bright, and great-grandchildren, Dawson and Sawyer Minor.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace and great-grandchildren, Madison and Emma Bright.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2013 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines with visitation for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery.
