Mrs. C. C. Carman of South township, was stricken with paralysis, while attending the funeral of Frank Ray at Elm Grove church on Monday and passed away the same evening.
Mrs. Carman grew to womanhood in that community and her sudden death is a sad shock to the people of a community already saddened by the death of Mr. Ray. Mrs. Carman was a sister of Warren Stevens of Winterset.

The funeral of Mrs. C. C. Carman who died at her home southwest of here the night of February 13, was held in the M. E. church here Thursday at 2 p. m. conducted by Rev. C. K. Corkill and interment was in the St. Charles cemetery.

Page 6Mrs. C.C. Carman went to the funeral of her cousin, Frank Ray. Just after she arrived at the church she was stricken by apoplexy. She was taken home and a doctor called, but she died about 11 o'clock that night.
The funeral services were held in the M.E. church here February 16th, conduced by Rev. C.K. Corkhill and interment in St. Charles cemetery.
She leaves her husband one daughter and one son and many other relatives and friends.
