Milton Mack Knight was born near Morgantown, Ind., Sept. 7, 1845 and passed away at his home in Winterset on Jan. 11, 1922, aged 76 years. He was married to Ella Allen July 2, 1874 and to them were born four sons: Charles A., Otis L., of Des Moines, Fay of Macksburg and Francis A. of Des Moines. These, with their wives and six grandchildren survive. Mr. Knight was the youngest and last one of his family, his parents, brothers and sisters having all preceded him in death.

He was a civil war veteran, being a member of Co. L, 8th Iowa Cavalry, enlisting at Albia on Aug. 7, 1863, and while in the service was promoted to eighth corporal. He was mustered out of service at Davenport, May 18, 1865. He has been a member of the First Baptist church some thirty years and was also affiliated with the G.A.R. and the Knights of Pythias of this place. Mr. Knight’s activity in working at his trade continued until a few months ago when disease was discovered in an advanced stage. He will be greatly missed by the community.
