In all the study of the Book of God during his life, his favorite chapter was the fourteenth of St. John, which was read in part at his funeral. In his last hours as friends gathered around him, he realized the crossing was near and stated that he was not afraid to go and sank quietly to rest in our Heavenly Father’s care.
The funeral was conducted from the Methodist church of Macksburg by Rev. M. Hulbert, the pastor. The body was laid to rest in the Moon cemetery.
