Mrs. Margaret Macumber, widow of Henry Macumber, died at her home in Winterset on March 11, at the age of 70 years. Funeral services were conducted in the Baptist church by the pastor, Rev. George D. Rogers, on Sunday afternoon, burial taking place in Winterset cemetery.
Mrs. Macumber was born in Polk county and married to Comer Phillips in 1871. Three children survive their mother: Mrs. Etta Smith, Mrs. Amanda Ponx of Granger and Milton Phillips of Kansas City. Also three brothers: Nathan and Martin McDole of this city and Jacob of Wichita, Kans.

Mrs. Margaret E. Macumber was born in Polk county, Iowa, December 25, 1850. She was married to Comer Phillips, December 22, 1871. Four children were born to them. Mrs. Etna Smith, of Winterset; Milton Phillips, Kansas City; Mrs. Amand Ponxs, Granger. One child died in infancy. There are three brothers living, ten grand children and one great grandchild.
She made her home in Winterset for thirty years. She passed away March 11, aged 70 years. Mrs. Macumber was married to Mr. Macumber, April 12, 1894.
She united with the Baptist church during the pastorate of Rev. Conger, thus making her one of the oldest members of that church. Rev. Conger was pastor from 1866 to 1870.
